I really dislike it when people say that acting is just lying or that anyone can do it
I used to think that too, but it’s so much more than that. It’s understanding and placing yourself in someone else’s shoes. Living their life. Feeling their pain. Knowing what they like and what they dislike, where and how they grew up, their personality, their interests. You don’t even get all the information sometimes. Sometimes you have to make it up yourself. To act a character truthfully is hard. You can be a good liar and be a terrible actor. Memorizing lines is the bare minimum cuz anyone can just say some words. I was reading this post that was talking about this star and said, “her crying was really forced looking, isn’t it like a standard for actors to know how to cry”. Feeling so sad about something that isn’t really happening that real tears come out is HARD DX -sigh- Too many feels. Cannot contain myself.
